Mrs. Kim Schoenrock
I started teaching in Elcho back in 1988 as my first job out of college (U-W Stout, 1985) and I quickly learned that in a small school it never ends. As a pK-12 art teacher I find my days engulfed in exploration and discovery, creating, making messes and finding solutions.
When I'm not teaching I can generally be found helping students with a myriad of special projects and events, often including Homecoming, Prom, Drama , props for plays, or sometimes I just find myself quietly painting a mural somewhere in the school.
In my spare time (yeah, that's an ironic phrase for me) my husband and I find ourselves involved in sled dog racing and caring for a kennel full of amazing Siberian Huskies. When I can squeeze in the time I enjoy drawing, throwing ceramics, photography and doing tatting.
As teacher and as an artist my personal and professional goal in life is to help students experience life through the world of art and then stand back to watch as that creativity leads to self-discovery. Once that begins to happen, then I know all is good in the art room.
