Hello, my name is Mary Beth Brendemuehl and I am the 5-12 Band and 6-12 Choir Director at the Elcho School District.
My teaching responsibilities for the district include High School Band, two sections of High School Choir, High School General Music/Drumming, Middle School Band and Choir and Fifth grade Beginning Band. Other duties and assignments that I have are co-advisor for the Freshman Class, a student intervention assignment during the Hornet Hour that and a Tuesday morning hallway duty.
I attained my education at the school at which I am currently employed, Elcho, and have many excellent teachers to thank for my excellent foundation. I attended UW-Green Bay for six years to earn a PK-12 Choral, Instrumental and General Music bachelors degree. I am a lifelong learner and attend workshops through the Center for Music Education in Madison, attend Orff workshops sponsored by UW-Stevens Point and the North Central Orff Association.
I am an active member of WSMA, WMEA, AOSA and WCDA. I am a master adjudicator for WSMA adjudicating solo and ensemble festivals and large group band and choir festivals. I perform in the Rhinelander Area Community Band, the Northwoods Brass Quintet, the Wausau Community Band and GB's Dance Band. I also play at three area churches.
Music is an important part of my life and I enjoy sharing the gift of music with my students and everyone I encounter. I share my love of music through the use of drumming, singing and playing instruments with them as well as arranging fieldtrips for them to experience performance groups such as the UW Madison Varsity Band or having students perform in the choirs at Singing In Wisconsin or the Dorian Choir in Decorah, Iowa.
I also have two wonderful children, Luke and Jaxon, a husband, Jeff and a black lab, Buck.
